Relomize

Family & Schools

Mostly about getting the school search started early.

Relocating with children adds real logistics, but the core decision — which school, and when to apply — is the one that actually needs lead time. Everything else tends to sort itself out once you're settled.

Choosing a school

Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi have the widest range of international curricula (British, American, IB, French); Da Nang and Hue have fewer options, so confirm space and curriculum fit early rather than assuming the same breadth of choice. Fees vary a lot by school, not just by city — comparing a shortlist directly, rather than assuming one city-wide number, gets you a much more accurate budget.

Timing

Start the school search before you've locked in your move date if you can. Popular schools, especially in Ho Chi Minh City's District 2, can fill specific year-group places well ahead of the academic year.

Childcare

Options exist in the bigger cities, ranging from international-standard nurseries to local childcare, with a wide price range to match. Word of mouth from other relocating families tends to be more reliable here than searching cold.
